Dataset visualization profiles for research group DI - QNR respondents disclosing dyslexia:
Legend: Profiles are presented in order of respondent Dyslexia Index (Dx), lowest first. Datapoint information for profiles and bullet charts is available on mouse-rollover, displayed as a tooltip. For some profiles, 'This Respondent' also provided qualitative data:
- Profile axes represent data collected in the research QNR from the 6 Likert scales which measured these constructs. Read more about the meaning of scores on these scales here:
- Academic Behavioural Confidence (ABC)
The lower colour boundary is set at ABC=57, which is the sample mean ABC for research group DI. The upper colour boundary is set at ABC=73, which is the sample mean ABC for research group ND. The black bar is set at the median ABC = 63 for the entire datapool. View the comparative normal distribution curves here:
- Dyslexia Index (Dx)
Datasets in research group ND which scored Dx<400 were those used to calculate the mean values for the 6 scales represented in the profile plots for research group ND. This boundary of Dx < 400 is chosen because at 224 Dx points below the lower 99% confidence limit (Dx = 624) for research group DI, a respondent scoring Dx < 400 is very unlikely to be presenting dyslexia, at least according to the criteria established in this research project.
The colour boundary points are set at Dx=299, which is the upper 99% confidence limit for Dx in research group ND datasets where Dx<400; at Dx=624 which is the lower 99% confidence limit for research group DI; and at Dx=718 which is the upper 99% confidence limit for research group DI. Datasets in research group DI which scored Dx>600 were those used to calculate the mean values for the 6 scales represented in the profile plots for research group DI and this boundary value (Dx = 600) is chosen because at 301 Dx points above the upper 99% confidence limit (Dx = 299) for research group ND, this is representing a similar (but opposite) boundary condition criteria to that described above (RG: ND; Dx < 400). Hence datasets in research group ND which scored Dx > 600 are used to generate research group DNI - that is, respondents presenting unidentified dyslexic profiles. The black bar is set at Dx = 696, the median for research group DI.
